About Natural Beginnings

The East FamilyThe idea for Natural Beginnings started when we were trying to find all the organic and natural clothes and products we felt our child, Maylie needed and deserved.

We ended up searching for a long time and had to purchase products from many different stores. We decided to develop a store where parents could find everything they needed to outfit their baby and get some things for Moms too.

We are dedicated to providing products from companies who are sweatshop free, promote ecological sustainability, and practice fair trade. We hope you enjoy their products as much as we do! Kathleen, Sean and their daughter Maylie live, work and play in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana. Kathleen has a degree in social work and Sean is a veterinarian.

What we are doing to promote environmental sustainability and social awareness:

Heifer, the gift that keeps on giving.
  • We buy green tags to offset 100% of the greenhouse gases that we produce.
  • We walk to work.
  • We use all energy efficient light bulbs & LED lights.
  • We reuse the boxes and packing material that we receive to send out our orders.
  • We use recycled paper in as many areas of our business as possible, including our business cards, bags, gift boxes, tissue paper, cash register tape, printer paper, paper towels and toilet paper.
  • We use Seventh Generation cleaning products.
  • We donate $0.25 to a local non-profit every time a customer elects not to take a bag.
  • We have an on-going clothing drive, and we donate the gifts to a women/children’s shelter.
  • We support businesses that we feel reflect our values.
  • Our website is hosted by ThinkHost, web hosting powered by 100% Green Energy.
  • Our credit cards are processed by Fees to Funds, they give 25% of their processing fees to a local non-profit, Bitterroot Therapeutic Riding.
